You have probably seen that in 1823 he was articled as a clerk to William Eccles, solicitor, of Manchester. Presumably he didn't take to law as a career.

First mention I can see in Trove is in 1843 when he was granted a storekeeper's licence at the Belvedere Mine http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/195936825

An interesting 1874 document in the Wolverhampton archives?

John Jesson Harrison in his own right and as trustee under the settlement of his sister, Elizabeth Newdick, and her husband, Shirley Newdick, of Dee Cottage, Llangollen, Denbighs., esq. Shirley Newdick and Elizabeth, his wife.

Hi,

South Australian, 15th July 1842, page 2

July 12th 1842 on the Barque "Lady Fisherbert" in the cabin passengers, 3 Mr Harrisons.

Maybe  John, Henry and Robert.

Added: The vessel should read LADY FITZHERBERT

Search TROVE  http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/  using "john jesson harrison".  He was a storekeeper.

I can't identify him in the marriage index or the birth indexes ie as a father.

His death registration gives his status ie married, single, widowed etc as N.  Not known or not recorded.

He is buried at West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide
http://www.aca.sa.gov.au/Records
and I have notified Adelaide Cemetery Authority that his name is incorrect on their database.  He is recorded as HARRIESON if you wish to search yourself.  The Authority usually corrects their records promptly.

Always a good idea to google the name of your person of interest as most people simply post here what they have found online.

Elizabeth Harrison otp married Shirley Newdick of Epsom, Surrey at North Cray, Kent on 11 September 1828.

One of the witnesses was Penelope Harrison (the other was a Mills or Miller).

Thanks Shaun ,
Just found that marriage but couldn't decipher the name Penelope ? but did find a Penelope with one of her nephews in a later census ,
Just need to find out about Robert and Henry now I have found their Baptisms in Barton under Needwood Staffordshire, so know they were John Jessons  brothers .
