Thomas HILTON b circa 1700 d. 1770 in Watermillock
« on: Wednesday 27 September 17 20:27 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I am trying to learn more about Thomas Hilton, my ancestor. He married Jane ?? before 1728. They had Mary (1728), Joseph (1731), and Jane (1734).

It's possible they had other children but these are all I could find and all who are mentioned in his will. I posted this in the past: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=755731.0 and was kindly given a transcription of Thomas's will, but still no marriage or baptism clues.

Watermillock parish registers are online, and I did recently find: Jane HILTON of Beneathead, widow, buried in 1759. I think it's possible this is Thomas's mother or sister in law? His own wife died in 1784 in Watermillock.

Thomas lived as a yeoman at Beneathead or Bennethead in Watermillock.

I would be so grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction to find Thomas's baptism or marriage, which apparently did not occur in Watermillock.

Thank you!

Thanks gc. This is probably not my them, but since it looks like Thomas's mother may have also been called Jane, there's a possibility it could be his parents.
