Three more opinions for you: my 34-year-old graphic artist son (while dropping off the grandkids) says late 30s; my wife says 40s; I say 40-45. Now wouldn't we all be embarrassed if she was 50.  :)
Cheers, Peter.

Hi

Even if we allow for a birth date range from 1840 to 1860, assuming the image dates from 1890, then there is only one possibility I can see. Her immigration date is before Bendetti and Co began numbering the images though.  The other two possibles arrived in Australia in 1867 and 1871, bith a bit early I think

Charlotte Elizabeth Quested
Born; 16 Dec 1848, London, Middlesex, England
Immigration; 11 Jul 1887, Tilbury, England, UK

Thanks for all the help  :)

Steve

Given that the image is numbered, it would seem to date from between 1888 and 1901, which narrows things down quite a lot !
Wiggy already dated this at mid-late 1890's which is correct.
This bodice style didn't exist 1887-91.

Woo-hoo . .  :D.   Thanks Jim!     8)

(Though to be honest I think Carol was a few years closer with her 'mid to late'!).  ;D

Hi

So the bodice style and the numbering of the image mean that it cannot be Charlotte Quested, because the 11 Jul 1887 is the arrival date in Sydney.  The R.M.S Potosi left Tilbury on 24 Dec 1886

The woman in the image may well remain a mystery
