Gurr family in Chatham (butchers)
« on: Saturday 30 September 17 03:02 BST (UK) »
William Gurr born to William and Mary Gurr nee Wall October 1803.
William and Mary married 9 January 1797.
I'm looking for William's baptism and hope to trace the Gurr line back further.
Appreciate any information and suggestions
Ken

Many of these records are on FreeREG

I can only see one earlier baptism of a William GURR in the Medway area on 4th January 1761.

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01kt5/

which would make William 36 years old when he married.  If this is William's father perhaps it wasn't his first marriage ???

I see they married by licence.  The licence  may have further details (if it has survived).

There a family tree online for this family

All the records are on Medway Cityark so you should be able to find the parish records for everyone mentioned.

Very many thanks to Bearkat and Eyesee.

When William married in 1797 he was a widower so will search for his first marriage and his first wife's death.

Sincerely
