Christopher BILLOPP burial
« on: Saturday 30 September 17 06:19 BST (UK) »
I am after the burial date of Christopher BILLOPP.

I have just been to the Library and downloaded via ancestry, the burial register image for Christopher BILLOPP - Greenwich St Nicholas Deptford.

Unfortunately the date is not part of the image.

It is headed Buried 1724.

His line reads - Capt Christopher BILLOPP from the Fleet prison London.

Can anyone help me with the date, please?

Regards
Grantley

I think it might be 20 May 1724.

The entry above shows 9, the one below shows 2 and the next is 4.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I agree with you that it is most likely on the 20th.

I have just finished transcribing his Will and it was endorsed by him on the 16 May 1724 with Probate granted on the 24th April 1725.

So if it is the 20th May, he just made it with his endorsement. It seems a bit of a gap until probate was granted.
