There's definitely a Hall in Maltby, Lincs.

Yep - sorry. When the map on Streetmap  is zoomed to the next level it's definitely Tathwell.  I was on my small (and slow) machine so buzzing around the NLS maps was a bit tricky!

Have you found a will for William?  I had a quick look yesterday but couldn't find one.

But there are 3 moats in the bottom left hand corner of this one and at least 2 are in Maltby http://maps.nls.uk/view/101588624

I am really struggling with wills & admons, they wealthy so there should be something.

I have NS died 1638/9 but not his fathers or grandfathers, not in the Lincoln indexes and I cannot see them in the PCC indexes either.

I was wondering about those moats!

On NLS now - there's a manor house SW of Maltby le Marsh. Also Markby to the south of M le M but no sign of a Hall.... and a Mumby   ???

(I managed to get my Pullestons back to 11-12C  but helped by a relative who'd done the hard work)
