Fine Street, Leicester
« on: Sunday 01 October 17 11:14 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Is anyone able to tell me where Fine Street was please? I have it from St Margaret's burial register in 1839.

Thanks

George

I cant see any mention of it on my old maps.

Have you checked for other family members on the 1841 census at the same address?!

Unfortunately the family had moved to a different address by 1841. I've searched for Fine Street on Findmypast but without luck; perhaps someone can search on The Genealogist?

Are you sure it says "Fine Street"?
Can you post a snippet of the register, containing the address.

No mention of Fine Street on the 1841 census - for anybody! ;D

I was sure that it was Fine St as that is what the transcription showed. I've looked at the source document and it looks like Vine Street to me. I remember Vine Street joining Elbow Lane when I went to school there.

Thanks for requesting a copy snippet, it made me look again. Lesson learned.

I was about to say the same thing when you posted.

There are two burials of people from Vine Street - Smith and Mears. The latter does look a bit like Fine street.
