Colchester, St. Peter Marriage 1798
« on: Sunday 01 October 17 15:38 BST (UK) »
According to a settlement examination record in Bethnal Green in 1840, William Hardy (deceased before examination) married his wife Susannah (don't know her maiden name) on the 22nd April 1798 at Colchester, St. Peter, Essex (certificate produced).

Could someone with access to the records for this church confirm this marriage please?

He is listed as a Weaver,
Susan Smith
Both single, by banns, he of the parish, she it doesn't specify.
One of the witnesses was Sarah Marten, the other probably the parish clerk.
He signed, she made her mark.

Thank you Sue!

Lot's to look into there!

Can I ask, where you got this information (website/CD/microfiche etc.)?
