Could the headstone have been put on the grave much later - it doesn't look very weathered or worn  ???
Sometimes names were added at a later date and they may have included someone who was not actually buried in that location.  Maybe little Annie 1887/1888  ???  Just a thought.  ???

If nothing materialises on here - perhaps check with St Ann's cemetery to see if Mary Ann was buried with Patrick ?

St Anns Cemetery Freeland Luzerne County Pennsylvania

Sandra

While the headstone looks relatively "new", you might still contact the cemetery, in case whomever commissioned the stone did not know of (if there was) Patrick's burial.

Note:  I believe one of the newspaper articles stated that Mary had been a resident for 5 years?  Perhaps Patrick is buried near their former place of residence?

Do you have additional facts about Patrick, please?  Perhaps we can trace his movements during the 1880s-1890s?  Thank you, Lisa

Update:  I didn't see Sandra's post until I reread the thread (where she mentioned the condition of the headstone).    ;)
