James Henry Davis
« on: Sunday 01 October 17 15:57 BST (UK) »
Good afternoon

I am looking for the details of the marriage that was reg 2nd quarter 1895 Wakefield between James Henry Davis and Hannah Beck.

I am wanting to find who the parents of James Henry are which should be on the church marriage certificate.

Many thanks.

There is this on Free BMD if you want to order the cert (upto you I'm not saying this is them):

Marriages Jun 1895
BECK    Hannah and Davis James Henry   Wakefield    9c   104

There is this on Family search again if you want to order the cert (upto you I'm not saying this is him):

James Henry Davy
Registration Quarter   Apr-May-Jun
Registration Year   1895
Registration District   Rotherham
County   Yorkshire
Event Place   Rotherham, Yorkshire, England
Volume   9C
Page   733

Both cert should say his father and/or his mother details. Again only order if you agree it's him I don't want you wasting your money  ???

RootsChat Help - Guidelines for postings states:
Do not ask for look-ups from commercial sources.
Most commercial sources have strict 'Terms of Use', which forbid publishing their data elsewhere, so asking for such look-ups is also asking people to ignore the 'Terms of Use'.

Does your local library have free access to Ancestry or FindMyPast? Mine does!

There is no image on either FindMyPast or Ancestry for a C of E marriage in 1895.  There is no record of this marriage via YorkshireBMD (a site which shows locations of marriages for various Yorkshire areas - not conclusive, but very useful at times) You may have to purchase the certificate - ONLY from GRO if you want to pay no more than £9.25  ;D

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The marriage banns are on Ancestry.

James Henry Davis of Castleford and Hannah Beck of Wakefield.

The banns were read at Castleford, 28th April, 5th May and 12th May 1895.

Good morning

Many thanks for all your replies, James Henry was living with his grand parents in the 1871 and 1881 censuses which is why I haven't found him yet with parents and, without buying a certificate, I haven't found his baptism, only the registration quarter and place.

Possible location of marriage is at St Mary, Wakefield - no images on Ancestry after 1892  ;)
