Help with death by drowning
« on: Monday 02 October 17 10:36 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to discover how long it would be likely to take for a body lost at sea from a fishing boat off Hartlepool to be washed up at Redcar. Apparently it's a distance of around 7 nautical miles. The (fictional) incident would have happened in June, if that makes a difference for tides at that time of year. Many thanks. Louise

Why not approach the experts for advice? HM Coastguard is the obvious, a quick Google shows both Hartlepool and Redcar Coastguard have Facebook pages.

You may need to reassess quite where a body would wash up in the light of their knowledge of the waters around Hartlepool ...
