Any help please - Joshua Johnson b. abt 1650 Wood Dalling, Norfolk.

I have traced my family to Joshua Johnson born about 1650 at Wood Dalling, Norfolk, but cannot seem to be able to go any further - yet. I am looking for BDM information as well as parents etc.

Hi, How did you arrive at the 1650 birth date? there is a tree on FamilySearch K86B-J7V ​ which maybe him.

Hi, this is the person I am seeking more info about. In FamilySearch K86B-J7V hi birth date is shown as Abt 1650. i am keen to go back even further if possible as he is in my direct line of ancestors.

Using FindMyPast (Norfolk Baptisms, BT's of Baptisms and Mid Norfolk Baptisms), there are no instances of a C of E baptism for Joshua Johnson prior to 1690.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

There is another tree on FamilySearch LCT6-XKV ​ it shows Joshua Johnson c1650 married to Alice Allisander c1650, Marriage: Abt 1676 Wood Dalling, Norfolk. They had 3 children...

Anne Johnson. baptised 20 AUG 1677 Wood Dalling,Norfolk.
Samuel Johnson. baptised 20 Aug 1677 Wood Dalling, Norfolk.   
Samuel Johnson. born 14 January, 1679 Wood Dalling, Norfolk.  Death 25 Nov, 1734 Attleborough, Norfolk.

I presume the first Samuel died before 1679.

Just had another look at this tree and looks like it maybe yours as well. What citations have you for the records?

For anyone with good eyesight, the images of Wood Dalling Registers are available to browse via FindMyPast.  :)

I can see the baptisms of Anne (1677) and Samuel (1679).  There is no baptism (1677) for Samuel, nor is there a marriage entry for Joshua and Alice in 1676 - I haven't searched other years.

Found a Will. Johnson. baptised 17 Feb 1684. Heydon, Norfolk. father Joshua.  mother Alice.

Heydon is less than a mile from Wood Dalling.
