Baptism/marriage look up request for West Arliss (1803 - 1847)

Rosie, the 1841 census transcript I saw just omits West's place of birth - does original actually state that he was not born in County?

Yes it has 'N' - neither was Ann.  Frederick & Frank were born in County

Ward West married in St Andrews Holborn 14/05/1823 to Amelia Ansell Sweet

Amelia Ansell Sweet married 1848 Plymouth to John Pearse, Amelia died 1851 Plymouth

Thank you Louisa. Frederic Charles and Frank are two of the four children of West Arliss and his wife Ann that were christened in St Luke's. The other two are Henry Ward and John Henry. I have found many descendants from these four, but no ancestors or siblings for West Arliss. 

I have found several other Wests, Wards, Henry Wards and Ward Wests that you would expect to be related, but can't make the connection. I have also found the births of six Arliss children with mmn Manning between 1837 and 1845 in Shoreditch/St Luke which I feel must surely be connected, living in the same area at the same time period - West's children were born between 1836 and 1843. The father is Charles Arliss, but his wife is Jane, so not the Charles you found......although possibly connected!

The aforementioned Frederic Charles Arliss (West's son) married an Emily Arliss, presumably another relative, but I can't find anything more on her either!

The Emily Arliss that married Frederic Charles was born in Blackheath, Kent, so that fits. She was born in 1839, so should be 22 in 1861- does that match? She married Frederic in 1862, so in 1861 she was still single.  Are West and Mary Ann her parents? The only snag to her being a cousin is that her father would be West's brother - and they wouldn't both be named West!

Also married at St.Martin in the Fields were Elizabeth Arliss to Francisco Menghetti in 1830

and  Jemima Arliss to William Chuckley in 1836

William Chuckley was a witness to West's marriage

Jemima Chuckley died in Westminster in 1847 (b.1811)

There's a Jemima Arliss born 1811 in Boston, Lincolnshire  plus an Elizabeth in 1804  - parents Christopher and Elizabeth

No mention of West, but the records are very feint.

Found him.  He's transcribed as West Harliss bap. 1803  Boston - parents Christopher and Elizabeth Payne

They also had a Ward (Barliss) in 1808
