St Andrews Alderton - Robert HOSTLER baptism
« on: Tuesday 03 October 17 11:49 BST (UK) »
Hi I am doing some research into my wife's family and have come across the name Robert HOSTLER b. Around 1790 in Alderton, Suffolk. He had a daughter Jemima OSTLER born chillesford.
I was wondering whether there are any parish records going further back and whether someone would be able to check for me? Thanks.

Yes makes sense have now seen baptism record for Jemima Horsler 25 Dec 1818 as well. Thank you very much.

We have only recently been able to look into this side of her tree as her mum didn't know many details about her grandparents family. I am still working on her dads side.
We have had a lot of information given to us from distant relatives who have been researching. However no-one seems to have picked up the name change from Horsler so hopefully I can relay that back to them.
Thank you for your help. :)

Hi,
As a matter of interest I have a Robert Hosler Ribbans in my tree born 2-5-1810  and bapt. 2-6-1811 Rushmere  St Andrerw.
I realise this doesn't help you but thought I would post anyway as I believe "Hosler"  came from his mother's maiden name which was Elizabeth  Horseley also born/bapt in Rushmere St.Andrew which is not too far away from Alderton.

Hi again,

There is no Sarah Green bapt. in Alderton.

The nearest I can find for is this one;
18-5-1769 Sarah Green  d/o William & Sarah Green in Bromswell, St.Edmund. This parish quite close to Alfderton.
Should you wish to go with this Sarah, then this could be her parents' marriage;
20-1-1766 William green to Sarah Woods Bromswell.
