Have you tried Llanbeblig or Llanfaglan ? . Looking at the death of Margaret, I notice she died at Garddfon. My gg-grandfather kept Garddfon until about 1860, but he's buried at Llanbeblig, where he came from. If Robert Williams was from somewhere like Caeathro , might he be buried at Llanbeblig ?

Neither of those give anything either ....... . Do you know where he was from originally ? . Garreg Goch is halfway between Llanfair Is Gaer and Llanddeiniolen, so it seemed nailed on for either of those two places. A stone might have fallen, but you'd expect a burial record somewhere. I can't find a single reference in any Llanddeiniolen MIs to Garreg Goch.
If the FindMyPast records for the area, including places like Llanwnda, Clynnog, Llandwrog and Llanllyfni are exhaustive, then his age might be wrong ( but Hobley agrees with the certificate) , or he's buried with family elsewhere.
If you suspect he was not from the area, then his marriage record might show another parish to that he was married in.

hobley states that he was a blaenwr in llanrug-waunfawr-then tan y maes.

i have him on record from 1780s in carreg goch.

hobley states he was in twll clawdd llanrug for 15 yrs.

he started his work with with the church at Llanrug at the age of 21

so in theory he was in his early 20s when he was in carreg goch-first child in 1785!

Neil,

If he had Waunfawr connections, have you looked at Bettws Garmon?

I would suggest you search for graves of people who died at much the same time. Look at the burial records, and try and find those on the GFHS Llanfair-Is-Gaer MIs (M128 a/b). There might be a broken headstone, an indecipherable inscription. My gg-grandfather's headstone at Llanddeiniolen is recorded in the MIs, but is no longer there. You might have to accept that.
The FindMyPast burial records for Llanfair-Is-gaer seem to have 50 or so missing years, including 1838.
