Susannah Eustace b.1785 married in Chinnor

Hi All,

I'm looking for a Susannah Eustace who married in Chinnor 13th Oct 1802 to Edward Holt. I have her birth as circa 1785.

I know the name Eustace shows up in Chinnor. I am looking for Susannah's origins.

Any help appreciated.

Although she married in Chinnor - is she on any census confirming her birthyear and Oxfordshire as her birthplace?

If not - where did you get her birthyear from?  1785 would mean she was 17 when she married Edward

Hi,
I have some "Eustace's" in my tree but they tend to come from the Wantage, Marcham, Challow areas
of Nth. Berks but none are named Susannah.

What I have found is a great variation in surnames;
Eusted, Ewstace, Ewstice, Youstes, Ewstes etc.

Have you thought of trying different spellings.

The Chinnor parish registers have been put on Ancestry if you have a subscription.

I looked at the parish registers for Chinnor and did not find an entry Susannah between 1772 and 1790.

There is a Susannah  Ewstace being baptised 10-1-1785 d/o William & Susanna in the parish of Towersey which is nearby to Chinnor.

I think riholt got Susannahs dob from a Burial of Susannah Holt 19 July 1830 Chinnor, age 45.

Yes the approx. date of birth as from her burial. She died before the 1841 census so no extra information to confirm it at present.

Hi,

If you are going to accept the Susannah Eustace's bapt. from Towersey, then these look like the burials of her parents in Chinnor;
16-7-1833 Wm. Eustace (aged 82) died 13-7
13-12-1835 Susannah "  (   "   83)    "    9-12

They married in Towersey 15-2-1773.
