Hunshelf - Bramall Lane
« on: Tuesday 03 October 17 21:45 BST (UK) »
My friend and I are writing a history of Bramall Lane in Hunshelf/Stocksbridge.  We have all the census/maps and a few anectdotes about a Mrs Workman who lived on there, but I thought I'd ask around on the off change anyone has this ancient lane featured in their research.  It actually fell into Penistone parish, but Barnsley archives are not proving helpful in letting us know if they have any records on it.  There were three dwellings on this lane, Rose Cottage, Bramall House and The Barracks/Briar Cottage.  The Waltons lived at Bramall House for many years in the 19th century.
