Alfred Henry Howes Look up request

Good morning! I hope you are well.
I was wondering if anyone could help me find more information on Alfred Henry Howes, who was my grandmother’s uncle.

What I know so far is that he was born in Merthyr Tydfil around March in 1915. He had three brothers called William Sydney Cannon, Alexander Douglas, Percy and a sister called Everhilda Maud Howes. His father was Sydney Dunning Howes and his mother was Annie Maria Allen.

I don’t have a lot of information on Alfred apart from him being born in Wales and having connections to Bristol. He served as a prisoner of war in Burma (I think) but I can’t find much information on that either. He was married twice and his second wife was called Helga and died I believe in 1970. I’m not sure if Alan Howes was his son but I’ve heard that name mentioned. Oldman is also a name that could be related.

I can't see a marriage to a Helga, and I'm not finding his death either?

WW2 service records are not online.
Records for all personnel serving after 1920 are still held by the MOD.
To apply see: https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records
You'll need his death certificate and there is a fee of £30.

A possible death:

Alfred Henry Howes in 1995 in Gloucester;  date of birth shown as 15 February 1915;  ties in with a baptism found for 7th March 1915 in Aberdare (Percy and Evehilda baptised at the same time), father shown as a miner.

Possible marriage for an Alfred Howes in 1949 in Austria listed in GRO Army Marriages.

Those seem to be a great hit. Where did you find the baptism record? Trying to find it on Ancestry.co.uk and it's being a bit difficult for me at the moment.
Also, the marriage in Austria would make sense, I believe it was after the war and Auntie Helga was Austrian. Sorry to be a pain, (I think I'm having an off day with technology) but do you have a link to that record as well? Thank you so much
