i have all that and still cant go back any further on mace, maice ,Maisse ,john felix maisse born 1840 ,death must be before 1891 beause hos wife mary ann, hannah pearce went to america with most of the children ,she is list as widow wife of john on american censuses etc

You state you "have all that" - have your read all of the replies ?

You were looking for what happened to the brother Alfred - see my reply#8 -have you thoroughly checked that burial out??

You are wanting to go further back - you don't seem to mention that Felix' father's name is given as Pierce on his marriage record???

this may be of interest
Alien Arrivals 22 Aug 1836 arrived London
Felix Bizouard with Felix Maisse
from Bologne Royal Sovereign
First Arrival
Has 2 passports from french Government
signed by bearer Bizouard Pierce Maisse Felix

maybe someone can make more sense of this?

Suz

I have edited this as I had mistakenly named Mr Bizouard as Felix when his name is Pierce - could this be the Pierce who arrived at a later date 1844 with Felix Maisse??

Have you checked all of this out?

There could be a confusion of names here
Felix Maisse father Pierce Maisse
married
Elizabeth Bacher
1840 St Boltoph  Bishopsgate

Also whether this is of any help
John Felix Perre Muisse born 1840 father Felix, mother Elizabeth
baptised St Botolph 08/11/1840
