Are you sure it doesn't say Muriel - second letter isn't as closed as the other 'a's

I agree Josey with the 'a' not being 'as' closed but I would say there's definitely no 'L' as the scribe seems to have very long upward strokes on letters with ascenders?

I agree that the final letter isn't an l because of the long upstrokes.  My immediate thought was it was Maria, as Rosie mentioned in Reply#1  but it does look like a boy (haircut especially) so .......
