In Loving Memory Of John Connolly Carrigbrahan Who Died 5th May 1948 His Wife Margaret Nee Phelan
They don't make this family history lark easy for us. His wife was from the Fennor area, so it makes sense. That said Kilmeaden is the other side of the County. Where they lived was Carrigbrahan and maybe William wanted the exercise so walked to Kilmeaden to register the birth. 

Don't forget it was State Registration.

I know people didn't travel much but it is perfectly possible for a birth in Donegal to be registered in Co Kerry!

Hallmark actually this guy was a sailor and did travel a great deal and I'm not searching the Canadian or Australian civil records  ;D ;D   Well done to Google as well as you!
