The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is not running

Microsoft Exchange Error

The following error occurred while saving changes in EDB file: 'The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is not running'. I went to the Microsoft support site and followed directions, still no joy.

Can someone guide me in the right direction?
