Bathurst Female Factory
« on: Thursday 05 October 17 05:51 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Can anyone tell me if there is a data base or list of babies born in the Bathurst Female Factory.

Also is there a data base or list of females who went through the factory?

Many Thanks

Hi there,

I may have some research papers on this, I will look for them over the coming weekend.  In the meantime, I remember the ABC broadcast, so I googled it.

It is possible the Bathurst history groups will be of assistance too.

I will ask for this thread to be moved to the Australia Board as it will likely catch the eyes of others also interested in Convictism in New South Wales, Australia.

Hi there,

I have not found the papers I referred to, sorry.
I have found online image from the NSW 1841 Census covering the counties of: Westmoreland, Georgiana, Bathurst, Roxburgh.  Ancestry has a current partnership arrangement with NSW State Archives.

On one of the summary pages it gives the following numbers for female convicts:
15 Holding Tickets of Leave
20 In Govt Employment
48 In Private Assignment
