The back is divided like a postcard with Coles Royal Studios in a fancy logo, also with dotted box for the stamp. Studios at City Road EC and High St, Kingsland; High St Peckham, High Rd Kilburn and High Road Ilford.

Can anyone date the photo from those details?

Most likely post 1915 when white borders were added to postcards for economic reasons...he also appears to be wearing the economy jacket which I believe was introduced around the same time.

Thanks Carol; not yet found an Army record for him (probably lost in the Blitz) but there is a gap between his children that would hint at him being absent from home.
