Taylor Blyth area nottinghamshire
« on: Thursday 05 October 17 18:41 BST (UK) »
Seeking information on my great uncle. He was called Regenald Taylor.... I don't know that much about him.... He was born 29th September 1915 ...i believe in oldcotes... married my grandmother's sister Irene Frances Allen in workshop c.1937.... and was a farmer on the hodsock priory estate near Blyth. As a child I remember meeting a brother possibly Francis or Frank... the only other thing was I believe his mother's maiden name was Hancock... any help is greatly appreciated. As I've hit a dead end.x

It's not very clear exactly what type of info you are looking for.  If you are looking for his life after marriage - you would need to find living relatives - see below re children

Have you looked for his birth on freebmd to confirm his mothers maiden name?  Is Regenald  a typo as it's usually Reginald?

When confirmed - use freebmd to search for other Taylor births with that mmn to establish any siblings.  I can see 2 sisters born 1914 and 1917 .

Births pre- September qtr 1911 do not show mmn so you can use the GRO online site to look for Taylor births with mmn Hancock prior to 1911

Use freebmd to look for his parents marriage to get their christian names.  Possibility in Doncaster 1913 You can then look them up on the 1911 census

Use freebmd to establish if any children were born to the 1937 marriage.  Details cannot be given here as the children could still be alive

Have you checked for a death for him and have you checked whether he left a will?

" I know his mum's maiden name was Hancock but that's all"

All very easily searchable here https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
As Carole says just plug in the names and hit search.

I cannot see a brother Frank or Francis, so if you want to establish his parents etc then you might consider buying his birth certificate to confirm his identity.
