Annie,

ooh heck, how did you find that and are they (Malcolm & mother & g/parents) on the census? or is this from crofting records?

I note you have all the same South Uist surnames as my friend Mary except she doesn't have the Walkers and has Morrisons - is this purely a coincidence or is it true that all South Uisters are related somehow?

I looked for a corresponding death and couldn't find one. Didn't check England & Wales or deaths at sea though. Will have another look.

Mercy me and you found another reference to Malcolm's birth with family members in Canada - many, many thanks for that.

You really are a marvel.

Warmest thanks,

Howard

Howard, I have to go out for now...

Mary's mother & my father are 2nd cousins!

She will be descended from Walker through her mother's line & Morrison on both her Mother & Father's lines although I haven't found a connection with both to each other as records don't go back far enough.

Yes, the Croft History Book, that's a great help for research!

Well Howard...

I was thinking 'that name is familiar' but I couldn't think where from & as soon as you mentioned my surname interests & 'friend Mary' the 'd' dropped!  ;)

We meet again  ;D...so are the MacAskills et al ancestors on Mary's paternal line?

I can't remember what I sent on Mary's mother's line although I'm sure what I sent would have included Mary Walker as Mary & I share her as our 3 x g g/mother, us being 3rd cousins  :-\
I can re-send anything if you need?

Annie

Hi Annie,

No, the Macaskills are part of a friend of a friend of Mary.

I've found it now on your Mackinnon line, it had just fallen out of my memory banks. Mary daughter of Donald Walker married 1822.

My other recent post is on Mary's maternal line ;-)

Best,

Howard
