Approx date of photo from either Crosby or Clayton family.
« on: Saturday 07 October 17 14:10 BST (UK) »
Can you put an approx date to the photographs, then I can see if I can work out what side of the family they may have come from.  What ages would you put them? Hope you can see them ok, they went a bit grainy when I scanned them.
Do you think it's the same girl or different ones?

My guesses: Edwardian; the first two the same girl on the same occasion, at about age 3; the third probably the same girl a couple of years earlier.

Notoriously difficult to date children even when you can see all their clothes!

. . sorry to disagree with McGroger but don't think the first two are on same person - clothes slightly different and bow different - unless they tied it again between photos - don't think the faces are the same really.

Pure guess so possibly wrong . . .could be 1890s - have photos or children dressed in that square neckline inlate 1890s . . . but clothes could have been handed down.

I wonder if they are all girls?   :-\     Come in Jim!   :)

Can't guess the third one at all.   :-\

My thoughts on the first two photos are that they are different girls (probably sisters) taken on the same occasion in similar outfits.  There is something in the background to the right of the photos over the girls shoulders that is the same in both photos.

I think they could be three sisters taken at the same time and could be Edwardian.

Thank you. I think the first two do look like sisters, their partings are different, one is higher than the other, or is it just the angle the photo was taken, but must be very close in age?  Can't work out who they are! Do you think the end one might be a boy?

I wouldn't rule out the third child being a boy.
