THOMPSON - George and Rosey (McClements) of Dungiven
« on: Saturday 07 October 17 19:06 BST (UK) »
I am researching the THOMPSON family line - George and Rosey (McClements with spelling variations) who were married on Feb. 22, 1873 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Dungiven.  They had the following children: William, John, George, James, Ellen and possibly a Sarah

I am trying to determine when George and Rosey died.  Rosey had died by the time of the 1901 Ireland Census and George was still living when the 1911 census was recorded- he was 71 years of age, living with his brother William and daughter, Ellen, Dungiven, N.Ireland.

The son William left Ireland under suspicious circumstances connected  to the Easter Uprising, April 1916, and settled in Scotland (Balbie Farm, Burntisland, Fife) eventually emigrating to Canada in November 1923. Two of his eight children were born in Scotland.

I am hoping to connect with any researcher that is working on this line as I have hit a few brick walls and seem to be unable to move forward.   As a side note: If BETTY53 is still checking this board, I have the information you are seeking for William Thompson who settled in Canada.

Regards...Julia

Rosey had died by the time of the 1901 Ireland Census...

Don't see a 60 y.o. George in Dungiven 1901, maybe you know where George was in 1901?

Pity you didn't give his age in 1901  or a link to Census, to save time looking for him!
