Paul,

Do you have an actual Baptism record for Jane/Janet?

Is it possible Alexander was with Mary prior to being with Catherine?

Another dead end. And I still cant find Grace or Mary

That one may be worth downloading as there may be a RCE with additional info. although not always but it also depends on what you really want/need to know?

You need to download 1st to find out if there's a RCE which is then FREE to download.

WATERSTON GRACE 1862
647/ 401 Hamilton

Often illegitimate children actually go by their father's surname in life (very common) i.e. it would be worth checking that birth cert.

I checked Graces certificate - No father listed only the mother. I'm hoping the Kirk session records might shed some light....

Don't worry Annie you have all done brilliant. My family have always been elusive.

How will I find out what happened to William after he reached New York?

A new Topic on USA board but include links to these as well as it gives some background for others & helps possible connections!

On the 'Home' Page if you look to the right of the screen you will see 'United States of America' click on that.

They don't have specific counties like we have for the british ones i.e. adding the place in your 'Subject' Heading is helpful to them.
