Ann NAPPER Ide, Devon
« on: Saturday 07 October 17 22:44 BST (UK) »
I am looking for either a marriage or burial of Ann NAPPER d/o William NAPPER and Mary DEAN.  Ann was baptised on 23 December 1804, Ide, Devon.

She had a child on 29 May 1840, Ide, Devon - William Henry NAPPER.

I have checked for a marriage of a Ann NAPPER and found one in 1828 and 1866 and ruled these out.

I have checked the Ide burials from 1804 - 1846 and have not found her.  I did however find a burial in Exeter in 1850 3rd quarter for a Ann NAPPER and wonder if this could be her as it appears that her son William Henry NAPPER was living with his aunt and uncle William and Harriet CLINT(K) at the time of the 1851 census in Fulham, Middlesex - Gardener's cottage, North End Villa.

The following is the link to a previous request about William Henry Napier which has background information

Thanks

If she had an illegitimate child in 1840 - she would not have married in 1828

Have you also ruled out the March qtr 1841 (Anne) and Sept qtr 1850 marriages?

Thanks Carol for your posting.
The 1841 marriage is unlikely as Ann was living with her parents at the time of the 1841 census.  I have looked at the others against the 1851 census records and been unable to find a match.

Thanks Schoch for your posting.  It is possible that she had earlier children.  I will have a look at these and husband John Crump.

I have checked this out.
John Napper appears to be the "Bastard" child of John Crump from sighting a Bastardy Order.  The mother was Ann Crump formerly Ann Napper.
Ann Napper was born c 1795 to Abraham Napper and Jane Aysh so not the Ann Napper that I am looking for.
Thanks for your assistance.
