On the matter of a Hugh Paton, I am looking for the death of one born 1863 to Alexander PATON and Emma Parsons.

Also the death of another son of their's, Frederick, who was born 1881.

I did look at this death previously and dismissed it as this appears to be death of Louisa's husband

Death
PATON John
Father John  Mother Agnes LYLE
At Tower Hill 1904  60 years  Reg# 3216

John PATON of Crossley, butcher who died in 1904 has a probate file on PROV.

Yes, I was just looking at the PROV documents. I suppose it could be a coincidence that the sisters married Paton's.

It may just remain a mystery. It could always be the QLD chap, but can't see how to prove that one. Maybe an ancestor of John's will see this and clarify things.  ;)

Yes, I did indeed. Was having a senior moment and knew ancestor was incorrect, but couldn't think of what it should be.  ;D

Yes it would, but as John isn't my direct line I will have to just wonder if...
