Nothing showing in Kent.  1851 census states that James was born in Burwash, Sussex.

Marriage to Elizabeth Sands 4 Feb 1797 Etchingham Sussex

Death James Waterhouse 17 Sept 1859 Barming,Kent (he appears to have left a will).

Thomas Waterhouse baptism 23 May 1755 Burwash- parents William and Elizabeth may  be him.

The above is on familysearch- also worth saying that if you go to the catalog on  familysearch and enter Burwash you can  access the bishops transcripts and although they are not in order they do seem to go a very long way back. You have to sign in to view them.
