I would suggest trying the local area library, they often have a wealth of old photographs stashed away.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos

Sheffield St was a short street running between Booth St and South St, parallel with Renshaw St. Unfortunately, the less significant the street, the fewer photos are likely to have been taken.

There are some images of Renshaw Street on Manchester Council's image collections site ( http://images.manchester.gov.uk ).

With your local knowledge, you may be lucky and spot the corner of Sheffield Street.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

Census information is Crown Copyright. See www.nationalarchives.gov.uk for details.
