Jerusalem Cemetery, Burry Port WILLIAM THOMAS
« on: Sunday 08 October 17 12:06 BST (UK) »
Hello--
Is there a more detailed listing of monumental
inscriptions for the cemetery at Jerusalem, Burry Port?
I found the index. There was a William Thomas
who died 12 January 1888 at age 40--trying to find
out more on him. Where did he live?
Thanks.
Stephen E. Simon

Have you looked for him on the 1881 census which is free at Family search.  Unless you have more info about him there are quite a number with that name and birthyear

https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2562194?collectionNameFilter=false

1871 also free here

https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1538354?collectionNameFilter=false

To establish his address at the time of his death - you would need to buy a copy of his death cert.  It would also tell you who reported the death which may help determine if it's the right person.  However - anybody could report a death so it may not have been a family member

Burry Port falls within the Llanelly Registration District. Probable death registration

William Thomas, age 40, Mar Qtr 1888, Llanelly, 11a  557

The index I checked describes him as "husband"

"Park y Mina" is a transcription - I don't have acccess to the original. There is a "Parc y Minos" in Burry Port.

There's a 20 yr old unmarried William Thomas in "Parky Minos St" on the 1881 Census. Have checked the original image and it's clearly 20 -so, not your man.

1891 Census

There's a Mary Thomas, widow, age 40, living on her own means, born Pembrey, address 2 Parky Minos St.

You are going to need the death certificate.

1881 Census  (ref. RG11  5376  44  33)

Only 2 in household -
William Thomas, Head, Marr, age 33, potman at a lead works, born Llanelly
Mary Thomas, Wife, Marr, age 33, born Pembrey
Address - 17 Silver Terrace, Pembrey, Llanelly

Possibly your William. Mary fits the "Mary, widow, age 40, born Pembrey" on the 1891 Census.
