Marriage of James Hawker to Ann Preece St. Martins, Birmingham.
« on: Sunday 08 October 17 12:26 BST (UK) »
On 11th May 1807 apparently James Hawker married Ann Preece at St. Martin, Birmingham.

Can I apply for a marriage certificate for this from Birmingham Registry office direct please? Will it give details of parents and witnesses?

Currently getting a little bit confused with these ancestors of my husband!

Thank you.

Before July 1837, when civil registration began, only the witnesses will be shown not parents; although a parent might be a witness it will not be noted as such.

I telephoned the number at the top of the page (using the link) but there was no reply. I thought I had become a member of this family history society way back in the Summer when I attended the Who Do You Think You Are 2017 show at the NEC.

i couldn't quite understand the difference between the £4 and the £5 image. I thought the wesite a bit confusing but maybe it's me! 🤔

Thanks Jim1 for that nugget. It may help.

Why don't you just go to your local library, search Ancestry for the entry, and download it to a "stick"?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
