Handypandy - Thank you too and for spotting the writing on my grandmother's hat.

Tonepad - Thank you for your observations. This could tie in with the location of the family around this time.

Their father was with the Royal Garrison Artillery and was stationed in the Montrose/Inverbervie area of Scotland from around 1902 until 1908. Perhaps this could explain the hats the children are wearing.

In 1908 they all moved to Cork, Ireland along with 3 more children who were born in that area.
