Hi all, had confirmation today that I was correct to think Norman died in Australia. He died in August 2008. His sister passed the message through another family member. she is sure it was Brisbane that he lived and died. She is hoping to come across his old address now that she knows I am looking for his death information.
i searched ancestry again and still havent found anything sadly.

He also married over there and had a daughter.
His sister cannot remember the wifes name at the moment.

So where do i go from here do you all think?

Kat, if he died in Brisbane there is no record of a burial and neither of the two Brisbane crematoriums were able to find a reference to him.

Just a little more detail from the electoral rolls

First entry listing him is 1977, living at 2/116 Browne St, New Farm, occ: driver.  No-one else of that surname at that address. Same details 1980.

I don't see him prior to 1977 - as a British subject he would have been eligible to vote from the time of his arrival.

Can't see any mention of him on TROVE (newspapers).  You may like to search again on TROVE: trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper

The only other avenue I can think of is to write to those listed with that surname in Qld on the white pages telephone listings - https://www.whitepages.com.au/residential

It’s driving me insane!

Iv just said to my sister that I may have to end up writing to all the Wibberley people over there in hopes of getting somewhere with it.
Me and my bad luck strikes again

Il go thru all the steps in all the posts so far anyway and see what happens x

Hi,

I suggested in reply 13 that the Queensland State Library had Commonwealth Electoral Rolls later than 1980 and the Librarians in the Family History Section are very helpful, if you haven't tried that avenue as yet it might be worth a go.

Hi Gerry yes I’m going to give that a go as well. Hopefully can get the time at the weekend to go through everyone’s suggestions :-)
