Gender Free - How stupid that would be!

Lets have it People Free! Then we can all guess what the population change will be.

It is not the stupid people who come up with these ideas that we should get rid of, but rather the ones who are paying them!!

A good job that "Gender Free" wasn't in force in the 1800's.

My great grandfather's Forename was Alison/Allison  :(  As was his cousin's, and his brother-in-law's who also had a male cousin named Alison.  ;D ;D

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

This is just the Daily Mail getting itself in a tizzy again. All it means is that it's being considered that people could have the option of giving an answer other than "male" or "female" at the sex question (not "gender" which is purely a grammatical device.) More choice rather than less - and not "gender free" at all.

It's a good rule not to believe anything in the Mail without supporting evidence. Other tabloids are available - don't believe them either.

In his case it may have been a forebear's surname (Allison not uncommon) ?
