The forename for my great grandfather and his cousin is almost certainly taken from their grandfather's wife's maiden name - Allenson.  I'm not certain about how the other two men came by the forename Alison.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
