Dock Workers records

Would anyone know a site where i can look up London dock workers records from about 1850 to 1920s.

As far as I know, there aren’t any consolidated employment records for London dockers. For most of that period, work at the docks was handed out daily, on a casual basis. This was one of the main causes of the Dockers’ Strike in 1889, which led to the formation of the main Dockers’ Union.

The trade union records are held at the Modern Records Centre at Warwick University, but they’re not online, and I believe there aren’t any membership records for individuals.

You could try the Docklands Museum in london, my gt x2 grandfather worked at st Katherine's docks as a gate keeper and they had his records.
