LG LED (55cm) Monitor
« on: Wednesday 11 October 17 04:55 BST (UK) »
My Oh has just installed the above monitor on our WinXP.
He says it is too bright for his eyes ( I agree with him on this) :).
We don't seem to be able to adjust the brightness on this Monitor.
At the bottom of the monitor I can see these buttons -
Menu/L
Reader/◄
Function/►
Auto/▼
Input/Exit
When I press Menu another screen appears with the following.
Brightness....100
Contrast ...70
Wide/Original - Wide  1/2
Reset No - 1/2
 Next Menu... and some ....► ◄ ▼

Would appreciate some help to fix this problem.....please.

That is because you have the Brightness set at 100%

Press the Menu as you did previously, then select brightness and lower the brightness.
This may be an onscreen slider.

1) what is the model? [ guess? 22MB37? ]

2) is it too simplistic to go back to the shop and ask?

As Guy said. When you select brightness you can adjust by using the arrow keys on the monitor.

Jim

That's what is being said . . . . . they can't work out what to select so that they can adjust it.

Do you know that model ?

This is probably the sequence, most screens are similar (ish)

1 Select the menu button

2 Click the down arrow button until "brightness" is highlighted (probably already highlighted if it is first in the menu, keep selecting down button will just continually loop between the menu items)

3 Then select either the right hand arrow button or the left hand button (one will decrease the brightness the other increase it)

Success a last :).
Thanks to all of you who replied to my post.

Well the fog has lifted from my brain, and things are much clearer after reading all the suggestions.

I'm embarrassed  to admit that I did not understand what these symbols meant....► ◄ ▲ ▼.

I've managed to adjust the brightness and whatever else I feel needs adjusting.

My OH said how did you do it, I just showed him how - did not think it was necessary to say I had help from Rootschat members. :)

Ray the model is 22M38.

Just had a look at the old monitor and can see these buttons down the side -I have never used them or known they were there.

Much appreciate the prompt replies and help - once again.
