Thank you.  Something for me to work on.
My nan used to mention her sisters and I knew one lived at South Molten, one at Rockbeare, Honiton and one at Shipham, Cheddar Somerset. - but you know how it is when you are little old aunties and uncles aren't that important.

Gertrude died as Gurtrude Linda Lock (birthdate 4 Apr 1904), Dec qtr 1979 Sedgemoor, Somerset.

The Sedgemoor registration district covered Cheddar, which you referred to as the place of residence of one of the great-aunts.

Yes  :)  I wished I'd asked more questions about my ancestors.

However looking on the bright side, it does make a very enjoyable hobby in discovering who my ancestors were.

Yes, JJen it makes it interesting.  I didn't know there was a James Harris - he crept under my radar.  Although my dad did say some of his relations went to Wales during WW1 but I thought he meant the Doble side of his family.  Must go further afield just in case.

I didn't know there was a James Harris - he crept under my radar.

James appears in the family in the 1891 census, aged 5 with a birthplace of Combe Raleigh.

He was baptised at Combe Raleigh on 9 August 1885 - parents James (labourer) and Alice Mary, of Combe Raleigh.

That sounds more promising - probably why he doesn't appear on the 1901 census where the family is living at Upottery.  I was doubtful about the Combe Raleigh connection though and the fact his father was James.  My great grandfather was John although his wife was Alice Mary too.
