Thanks  - was hoping John may have been from the Bristol area, my brick wall is in the form of one Joseph Pyne, a blacksmith from Weston in Gordano just west of Bristol - he pops up from nowhere from 1807 in that area has several children from 1807, with no less than 5 sons taking up the blacksmith trade. When I saw Thomas a glass cutter (the area in North Somerset around Nailsea was also a major glass manufacturing area) , son of John a blacksmith, possibly born in Weston Super Mare - I got very excited about a connection that might provide another way of tracing Joseph.  Nothing very certain yet , but this family in London warrants more attention I think.

Thanks again

Jeremy
