WOW ;D

Good Morning Everyone, thank you all so much for the help.

I have a photo of the Headstone, and a copy of the marriage certificate to Margaret Taylor in 1881.
I shall certainly look up the will on Scotland's people. It was after finding the probate I wondered what he would be doing in Molong. Is it possible that the information regarding the "Dacca" could read Lanarkshire, and what does "arrived free mean". How would I go about getting a copy of his death (I am in the uk).

Once again thank you all for your wonderful help.

Moo he died intestate ie no Will as such.  It appears his wife applied to administer his estate as she was executor.

It is possible to purchase a transcription of his death certificate which is emailed to you.  There are three accredited transcription agents in New South Wales.  Cost is AUD$20 and much cheaper than purchasing a certified certificate and the information is the same.

Good luck :)

Hi,

The George STARK on the Dacca was was listed under the "Free Passengers".  When there was a large demand for a specific category of immigrant such as farm servant/laborer or mechanic (covered many trades) or domestic servant the Queensland Government would authorize its Agent General to select these category of immigrants and grant them a free assisted passage to Queensland but they would need to pay the Queensland Government back in a certain time period one pound per statute adult passenger.

You need to click on the link kindly provided by Gerry to see the original entry on the passenger list.
There is no mistake a bout the man's origin.
Gerry has inadvertently typed STARK as the surname.
It is STACK on the list above
Sue

ADDING
FL is likely Farm Labourer

Hi,

Thanks Sue, I'm pleased someone is alert, it sure is STACK and not STARK, sorry about the mistake, it is most unlikely that he is our man.

It didn't seem right when I posted it, Lincolnshire? and F/L? and all along I have have the surname wrong.
