Also Mary Ann Moore married Henry Walter Moore in 1847, Stepney:

Wee typo here I think.
I see it as Mary Ann STURCH

Sue

Thanks for the update there Sue - Sturch is so much easier to trace rather than Moore.

I do like those straws you're clutching cupoflife  :D

It's amazing how just a few words seem to make a lot of the pieces all fit together.
We know William was Mary Ann's father (from her marriage). She was the wife of Henry Walter/s Moore and the thing I like about the above notice is that Mary Ann is living in Neutral Bay in 1860 - the same area as the Anderson family who were recorded in her story re the shipwreck.

It all just seems to fit - thanks a lot  :-*

Re the Sturch and Bursill family connections ... I'll take a wee while to sort out that lot but do really appreciate all your help.

Di

Thanks for all the Bursill info JM. As I mentioned above, I'll need to document all the new info and confirm their connections.

I really appreciate all your help

Just in case anyone else is ever looking for the Moore family I have the death of Henry Walter Moore, died 31 Aug 1889, age 83. Appears he died at Bowenfels (near Lithgow) The front page of the story I mentioned in the opening post was reported to have been written for the children of R Anderson of Lithgow (although I have never been able to confirm that they actually lived there) Details I have are that Andersons were from Neutral Bay/North Sydney ... maybe they were on holidays  ???

What was the occupation of Henry Walter MOORE?

I found this-
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/60164235
A mention of H Walter MOORE, but I am not able to quite understand  his role in the context of the advertisement.  Some sort of accountant or secretary for the doctor?
September, 1855

Or an entirely different man from your chap?
