Deciphering name as Daniel or David

Hey everyone, sort of a minor point, but I'd like to sort it out of if I can. I'm quite sure the Anna Maria Bidembach who married Johann Holzwart in 1625 was the daughter of Daniel Bidembach. The Württembergische Kirchengeschichte Online says that she was, however the modern transcript on the Ancestry.com, "Württemberg Deutschland, evangelische Kirchenbücher, 1500-1985" gives the name in the marriage register for her father as David.

Looking at the actual picture from the marriage register, it looks like Daniel to me, but the word is cut in half with half at the end of one line and the other half at the start of the other. I can kind of see how someone would get David, by how the dot above the 'i' is a little to the side, but I don't think that's right.

Sorry, I know it's a minor point, but I'm putting a tree together and I don't know if I ought to be looking for a Daniel or David. I know there was a Daniel Bidembach with a daughter Anna Maria.

I agree with you that Daniel is the likely reading.

There are several examples of d in an end-word position (such as und in the same line).

Those ds have a distinctive forward loop.

I can't see an l in an end-word position.  Generally his l (in mid-word positions) doesn't flow from the previous letter.

However I can see what I think is Sindelfingen in the last entry before the hand changes.

The el combination there looks like your word.

They are too common, unfortunately, which is why it's best to see the original image whenever you can.
