CWGC Appeal for relatives.........Pvt Hugh Mooney.
« on: Saturday 14 October 17 11:11 BST (UK) »
Commonwealth Graves Commission would like to make contact with any relatives of Pvt Hugh Mooney -born 1860 - register of Soldiers Effects says he died August 21, 1915 Falkirk aged 55 -  Hugh was the husband of Catherine Mooney, of 23 Rankine Street, Johnstone. Couple should have children.
Parents Hugh Mooney and Agnes MacDonald.
Regiment No - 3933, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was buried at Thorn Abbey Cemetery, Paisley.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is appealing for relatives of nine soldiers who will soon be given a commission headstone.
It comes as part of plans to honour the men as war dead as when they died, either from injury or illness sustained during active service, the CWGC was not informed by authorities of their death.

Hugh is commemorated on the Brookwood United Kingdom 1914-1918 Memorial

This was the marriage of Hugh Mooney (confirmed by the marriage certificate) Hugh was 36 years old - Catherine Hamilton Armour was 30 years old - its faint and difficult to read but both had possibly been married previously. Parents Hugh Mooney and Agnes Mcdonald (both deceased)
Catherine parents Hugh Hamilton and Margaret m/s Gallagher Hamilton - deceased)
Catherine resides 22 Rankin Street Johnstone and Elderslie Scotland.

 - MOONEY HUGH - ARMOUR CATHERINE
1898 - 573/2 111 - Johnstone and Elderslie
