WW1 army uniforms

Wanting to know the regiments of the two soldiers one could be cavalry holding riding crop and wearing spurs the other could be medical cross on right arm. both appear to be not married, do not have the names of either person, any help would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome from me also  :)

The second man is definitely from a mounted unit, (he's wearing spurs) but as Carol says, a better scan of the cap badge would be better, however, the badge "Could" be the Royal Engineers or Army Service Corps.

The top man as you say, is wearing a Red Cross on his arm, could be a medic or stretcher bearer  :-\

1st. man is RAMC. Even though it's a bit blurred the badge is quite distinctive.
There is a death for a John Loud 1st. T/37413 ASC & finally 28479 2/4 Loyal N. Lancs.

Agree with jim1.  RAMC first man.  Second man has the ASC badge and John Loud had a T/ prefix to his ASC number denoting horse transport, hence the whip etc.

Many thanks for all the help to jim1, maxd, treetotal,jess5athome. It makes sense the info for John Loud having two military numbers, photo came from a lady who lived in the U.S.A  John loud would have been her uncle. As for the first man RAMC I have no military info of him i was hoping that he was a Stephen Gutteridge born 1876 in Southport all his family moved to Preston but he was married in 1904 but he would be age 40 in 1916 and the man in picture does not look anywhere near 40
