Did you try IGI for her?

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01kwb/

Catharine Ambler
born 11th August 1781  baptised 14th August 1781 at Saint Helen, York.   Father Richard Ambler
FHL Film Number:   990873

She is in lots of family trees on Ancestry, for you to try to contact tree owners. Several of them quote Catherine Greves as her Mother.

Some of them go further back, and some of them are bad/funny.

That information ties in with the marriage entry - marriage was by Licence and Catherine is said to be 18, whilst Thomas is said to be 24 and a Butcher.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hey!!!!  St Helen's parish in York was a follower of Reverend Dade, so this is Catherine's baptism entry from the parish record itself, not the BT:

Catharine, daughter of Richard Ambler, Ale Draper, son of Richard Ambler, Ale Draper by Esther his wife, and Catharine, daughter of George Greaves of Clifton, Blacksmith by Doroithy his wife.  Born 11 August, baptised 12 August 1781.

Abode is Kendall End.
