Stalag Luft 6 POW - How can I get more information?!

Hi,

I have received the RAF records of my great Uncle, Ivor Edwards (dob: 1921) who was a Leading Aircraftman in the 2nd WW. I had already found out (from a kind soul on here) that he had been in Stalag Luft 6 at some point and now I possibly have an idea of when if I am reading the rather difficult to read writing. It looks like he was:

Missing 1943
In Stalag Luft 6 - 29th November 1943
Returned to UK - 9th May 1945

Now from what I can see the camp closed to airforce men (and others) in 1944 and they were made to march across the country (one of the Long Marches) until April 1945. Is there any way I could ever possibly find out whether he was someone who would have been in the marches? Or what else he may have been up to?

To be honest - any deciphering of the writing on the attached would be good. I can't work out what the Squadron number is on the page either, it's just above where it looks like it says 'Missing' 'POW' etc.

Any help very gratefully received. Oh and his service number was: 1413915

It look like squadron 2901, or possibly 2401 in some people's writing.

Have you just tried putting 'Stalag 6' into the Google search engine? There are innumerable pages on there about it. From what I could quickly see there were maps, lists of rosters, people's memories, photographs, diaries etc etc.

Many thanks Goldie61 - I have been having a good root around the internet but to no avail at the moment, not anything that might lead to Ivor specifically that is. I will keep looking though! Thank you!
